What is himalayas?

  The himalayas are geologically young and structurally fold mountains.They stretch over northern borders of india.Himalayas are running west-east direction from indus to the brahmaputra  river.Himalayas are the loftiest mountains and one  of the most rugged mountains system in the world.They form an arc ,which cover the distance 2400 kilometres. How himalayas formed? Thousand years ago,the earth is divided into two categories. The water part is called panthalasa and land part is called pangea.  Pangea is divided into two parts . Upper part is called laurasia and lower part is called gondwana land. By the movements of plates.  The gondwana land uplift out to the tethys sea include to the indo austrian plates.
